Lochranza holds a population of around 200 people. Located on the North of the island, the village sits at the foot of the dramatic hills. The desire to explore is irresistible and there are plenty of footpaths and tracks that lead up into the hills, or to gentler walks along the coast.

Although the island’s population is small, tourism means it can get busy during the summer. As the terminus for the Caledonian MacBrayne Ferry from Claonaig, the village is an ideal stop-off point for those arriving in or leaving Arran.
